Step 1

Start by picking out your favourite colours. If you're not sure whichones to go for, edding offers a number of handy sets containingcarefully co-ordinated colours to help you decide. All the pens haveflexible nibs, so they're great for creating large blocks of colour as wellas adding detailed design elements.

Step 2

For best results, clean your jar using a cloth and some methylatedspirit before you start. This will remove any fingerprints or dust.

Step 3

Draw the outline of your design onto your jar using a black brush penand leave to dry before adding any other colours. If you make amistake, you can easily correct it using a damp cloth or cotton bud.

Step 4

Gradually work your way around your cookie jar, colouring in yourdesign in different colours. Remember to always hold the jar along theedges to avoid smudging your design with your fingers.

Step 5

Once you're happy with your design, leave it to dry for 15 minutes.Remove one of the racks from your oven and then pre-heat the oven to160°C. Place your jar on the cold oven rack and bake in the oven for25 minutes. Switch off the oven and leave the jar to cool inside toensure your design is completely dishwasher-safe.
