Whether it be for Mother’s Day, someone’s birthday or as a thank-you, this fabulous bouquet of paper flowers will really turn heads and get people smiling. The flowers have been made from paper in an array of cheerful colours before being decorated in shiny metallic shades using edding 1200 metallic colour pens. The ink is opaque, making the pens ideal for white and coloured paper alike. Just pick out your favourite colours and get designing!

Step1

You can see all the materials you need for this creative idea at aglance in this photo. In our example, we used the edding 1200metallic in silver.

Step 2

Cut the paper into narrow strips before decorating by using a colourpen to add patterns of your choosing.

Step 3

Next, fold the paper strip in half lengthways.

Step 4

With the folded side of the paper strip facing you, cut out small petalsas shown in the photo.

Step 5

Once you've done that, unfold the individual petals and glue themtogether in the centre to create one large flower, making sure youpress down really firmly. Ensure that the painted sides of your flowerare pointing upwards.

To give your flowers a nice 3D effect, slightly fan out the individualpetals.

Step 7

First, take a sewing needle and prick a small hole in the middle of theflower, then carefully push a wooden kebab stick through the hole.

Step 8

You can also design your petals in different colours or cut out petalsin different shapes - it's entirely up to you! And there you have it: abeautiful bunch of flowers.
